This 6-hour workshop will begin by discussing the fundamental pillars of photography; aperture, shutter speed, focal length, format (sensor size), and colour temperature. These concepts will be accompanied by illustrations in order to help the participants gain a practical understanding of the concepts. Once these concepts are explained we will apply them all in a studio setting using a current industry standard DSLR camera, and each participant will have a chance to fill each role on set (Photographer, lighting technician, subject).
This course will cover the following:
- Hands on experience with a professional DSLR camera
- Review of camera theory relating to photography fundamentals
- Discussion and demonstration of accessories (proprietary and third party)
- Discussion of lighting theory and placement
- Hands on experience rotating crew positions in a studio photo shoot setting
- Discussion regarding more advanced techniques and accessories
- Digital copy of workshop notes / reference material
