Terumo Canada–Introducing the Newest Family Member

Terumo Canada

Video is a great tool for spreading the word about a new product, service, or facility. We worked with Terumo Medical Corporation in the winter to showcase their brand new Terumo Canada facility. They needed to connect with the Canadian market and let people know about their services. Already a well-known name in the medical device field, Terumo wanted customers in this country to be aware of the advantages their expansion could provide. This blog will look at how we helped our client showcase and promote the newest member of their family.

Welcoming Terumo Canada

Terumo provided us with materials so that we could write a script for this project. They also requested a storyboard for a better overall understanding of how the final video would look. Terumo Canada asked us to create  a three-minute video featuring the brand-new distribution centre. The client wanted to include shots of the ribbon-cutting and cultural ceremonies. Our camera operators also shot interviews and stills to be used in other applications.

Shooting at the Terumo Canada facility was a challenge because it was so new. The company wanted to get ahead of the game by showing off the building, but they were still building up momentum. Our job was to highlight the large and flexible space, emphasize the newness of the structure, and use some creative editing and camera work to make some of the areas look more established.

Terumo Canada Form…

We begin the video with the recognizable Terumo logo and building signage, then segue to the ribbon cutting and a celebration of the new space. Then we move on to cover shots that give the viewer a better idea of the massive 58,000 square foot building. Outdoor overhead shots were provided by our aerial video partner, Lone Drone Solutions.

Back inside, we tour the Terumo Canada facility. The voice-over narrates what the viewer is seeing as we pass through the front office, boardrooms, and training facility. At last, we arrive in the state-of-the-art warehouse. The warehouse was of particular importance since this expansion into Canada allowed Terumo to move from a third-party distribution network to providing partners with a local connection to experienced sales and marketing teams. We emphasize the assets of this area by highlighting the bay doors, temperature controlled facilities, and packing area.

…and Function

Next, it’s time to dig into the function and advantages of Terumo Canada. As we continue to tour the office, we see some of the employees. The voice-over promotes the workers who represent multilingual customer service, contracts and procurement teams, regulatory affairs, and sales and marketing. The audience also learns more about the Terumo products flowing through the warehouse and how special training facilities are available to promote product use.

The final section of the video is the cultural dedication of Terumo Canada. Footage of the ceremony shows employees and stakeholders toasting and celebrating the new facility. The script talks about next steps and what the expansion means for Terumo and its Canadian clients. We end with a jib shot of the warehouse, leaving a lasting impression of the impressive facility. The endpage includes Terumo branding and website information, encouraging viewers to find out more.

This video is a great way to introduce Terumo Canada. The components add up to act as a promotional video, as well as a record of the company’s expansion into Canada. The audience gets an overview of the space and the services available. If your company is expanding, video is a great way to let everyone know what’s new. Call Key West Video today for a free quote.
